Mom and Meggie!

So on Tuesday the 24th my mom and my Megan flew in to see me and Richard. They finally got here at about 6:30. When we got to the airport my mom was feeling a bit of motion sickness and Megan was on the phone. We just came home for the night, played wii and watched Juno!

My sister and I were in the air and space museum store playing with little magnet rocks and stuck them to our noses. There was a guy behind us that commented on our rock noses, saying, "Creative Americans". We thought that was a pretty nice way to say that we a weirdo's.

We got up Thursday morning ate delicious croissants and headed for Washington DC. It is about 4 hours from where we live. It was all of our 1st time except Richard, it was his 3rd time. We saw a lot of really awesome things. It is an experience that I think that everyone should have. However I do have some recommendations if anyone is going. We walked all of the first day and in flip flops that was pretty painful.

Day 2 in DC we went to Union Station first and we decided to take the double decker bus so we would be able to see everything that we wanted to! My Favorite was China town but only because I got some GREAT things there! I completely forgot to take pictures! I also really enjoyed the Embassy. Having so much culture in one area is a fantastic thing. The buildings their all really impressed me. I love architecture and We saw so many beautiful buildings and churches!

We then drove home and got back to Va Beach around 11pm. Saturday we went to the Virginia Aquarium. We saw all kinds of animals. My favorite was the sea horse. They are weird little creatures. We also spent a lot of time playing with the sting ray. they have an intersting texture and intersting personalities. Some of them would come up right where we were and act as if they wanted us to pet them. Like when little kids stand at your feet and tell you that they want you to hold them.

Sunday we spent the day at the Beach! We went to all the little shops and we ate at a sea side cafe and the 2nd level.... It rained but only while we were eating! The beach cleared off so fast and by the time we were through eating the rain had stopped and we were able to play in the ocean until the sun went down and the lightning started again.

Then we woke up Monday and had some breakfast watched some friends, fit in a little more Guitar Hero and then took the to the airport! It was nice to see them! I am now even more excited about going home!

Love you both thank you so much for coming and exploring with us!

What fun! Don't you just love DC? I love it, it is SO BEAUTIFUL! I agree with you on that everyone should go there. I mean I have not been many places but that was by far the most beautiful place I have ever been. Hey maybe in a few years me and you can go on a fun vacation.
