Good Morning Birthday Boy! |
1 year ago my life changed forever. I gave birth to the most precious, beautiful baby boy! Not only a wife now I became a mother. People have always told me that being a mother changes things, but I had no idea how much I would change. I have changed the way I view the world, my sleep habits, the way I drive, the way I view other drivers, the way I see tragedy, the way I see joy, my definition of love, and I now have "mother bear" added to my personalities. I would not change the last year of my life for anything in the world.
My son is such a fun little guy. He can be so serious one minute and completely fun loving and goofy the next. He knows exactly what he wants and lets us know. He has grown so much. I can't believe how big he is; when I take a step back and watch him I am shocked that my tiny baby is starting to look like a (bald) little boy. He has also been using a fork and spoon with meals. It is pretty cute when he actually gets stuff on them and eats off of them. Usually he just holds them in one hand and eats with the other. He is getting so tall and losing his baby chub. When I ask him if he wants something he nods his head and says please.
Silas Loves Thor, playing with cars, chasing after kids (and is mommy), little people toys, balls, books, remotes and phones.
Silas Loves to eat, broccoli, oranges, peaches, toast, cheese, meat, gold fish crackers, berries and applesauce.
Silas has had some big change this week. He is no longer drinking formula and doesn't have a bottle any more. I was thinking the transition would be a lot harder than it ended up being. I am glad I decided to get rid of it at this age. He was starting to really get attached to it, wanting it more than anything when it was time to sleep. He transitioned like a champ. I hope other transitions are this easy as he gets older.
For Silas' birthday We had a swim party. It was fun. Silas loves the water so I thought it would be fun to so something that he likes. Dick took him in the water and swam with him until he nearly fell asleep. Then we got him out wrapped him in his towel and I held him for a few minutes until he fell asleep. He took a little nap on the couch while others continued to swim. When he woke up he had started eating, so I fed him a little food and then we had cake and after that he opened his gifts. It was a great party and we are grateful to all those that were able to make it and missed those that couldn't come.
Silas had his check up with the doctor. He weighed 21 lbs 14 oz 45th percentile and was 30 1/2 inches tall 75th percentile. Everything looks good. He is a happy healthy little boy!
