Will we ever get to Tennessee!

So to start We Drove out here (together this time) And it was a LONG trip. It was suppose to take about 24hrs before you add in the stops. So I started the drive off so I could sleep at night. When we got into the mountains it was snowing! It was horrible. I have a fear of driving in the mountains anyway but then there was snow and it was dark, not my favorite!

So after that Dick took over and I slept. He drove through some good storms also. Then we finally got out of Utah and had good weather most of the way. It did rain a bit but I love rain so that was fine with me.

So we have been driving a while and we are closing in on our destination. We stopped and I took over. I am driving and just as I cross the border in the Arkansas The back left tire BLOWS! Awesome, Right? Of course I was driving at the the time and the car started shaking, so I pull over as soon as I can and sure enough the tire is F-L-A-T! Only about 180 miles left on our journey! So we unload the entire trunk so that we can get the donut out. and Dick puts it on. (Some nice Arkansas guy came and parked by us so we could use his lights to see.) Well just our luck it happens to be 9:30ish so there isn't a place anywhere that is open to replace a tire!

So he calls his papa for some advice and we end up driving about 20 minutes abd then stopping for ten. Finally we stopped at a gas staion I asked Dick to buy an air gage and check the donut(because by this time he is stressing about all the tires and driving on a donut)-(The gas staion was a treat in it's self! WoW, but I won't get into that) SO he checks and fills the donut and other tires and we start driving 30 minutes and stopping for 10 minutes between each 30 to make sure the tires don't get to hot.

So the 180 miles ended up taking a lot longer than they should have! We rolled into The Legends at Wolfchase Apartments at about 5AM! but we made it and we are safe!

The best part is we will never forget our journey getting here, right?!

Sorry I meant to take pictures but I well I didn't. SO pictures will come with the next post about Our Apartment!

Death by Stairs

So a couple of weeks ago I was about to leave my mom's to meet up with some friends from work, for an awesome Korean dinner. I headed down the stairs as I was checking out the map on the GPS and found myself on the on the platform of the stairs with my head against the wall and my feet in the air, thinking, do I scream, do I cry or do I get up and pretend nothing happened. So I laughed under my breath and thought if I can walk on it I'll be fine. So I stood up and out the door I went.

I called Dick and ask him if he heard me fall.. He hadn't heard though I am sure he would have gotten a good laugh from it.

I didn't want to spoil the dinner fun by making a fool of myself so I think I told Kristen and left it at that. It was okay that night it didn't feel completely horrible! As long as I didn't put too much pressure on it I was good. So I continue on with the night and into the next day.

I went to work were I was limping a little but it was that noticeable. Then, it being my last day at work, Dick came in for lunch. I hadn't looked that close but I proceeded to pull my pant leg up to take a look and show Dick and my mom that it wasn't that bad. As I pulled my jeans back I noticed that my ankle was HUGE! It was about three times the size of my other ankle.

(I will be the first to say feet are awful things so I apologize if you are disgusted by this next picture. Just don't look too closely. Also this is after some of the swelling had gone down! It was HUGE!)

As Dick went off to install I assured him that I would ice it when I got home. I continued to class and once I sat down I saw my mom enter the class room with a bag of ice and a bandage. I then wrapped my ankle and was noticeably limping for the rest of the day. It was a lot harder to hide it and walk on it with that ice and bandage connected.

All of the kids were asking me what I did. I just laughed about it. Stairs can be dangerous. Luckily as the weeks have gone by it is almost back to normal. It rarely hurts at all anymore.

The moral of this story is Pay attention as you walk down the stairs!

Happy Birthday!

It was Dick's birthday yesterday, I worked most of the day so he went and hung out with his friends! I didn't get pictures but he got a rug for his birthday, It will be moving to Tennessee with us so I will take a picture of him with it and post it at a later date.

I also made him a delicious dinner. Johnny, Bryson and Derick joined us for dinner. Ali and Brody and Lee also came over. (I love those kids!)

We had marinated chicken, barbecued, corn, peach jello with cream cheese, cool whip topping, and twice baked potato's(they were as big as my head) This was a followed by an "ice cream cake" (which was actually ice cream sandwiches covered with a cool whip, mixed with caramel). It all turned out pretty delicious. He ended his day playing Wii with his friends.

I'd say he had a pretty good day.

Happy Birthday Babe! I Love you!

Heart Day!

We had heart day at school. This was to show Appreciation for the teachers. I hadn't participated at all so I decided to show my appreciation on heart day.

SO I decided to paint hearts all over a white shirt and wear that. It took a while but I had fun!

I just want any teachers out there to know how much I respect you and I am grateful for the work and effort you put into teaching children.

As for those teachers that I work with, Thanks for everything! I have learned so much from you and I will miss you all!
